“Leaders are not born, but are made by their experiences in life”. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, every year the Student Council Cabinet is formed at Vidya Soudha Public School. The Investiture Ceremony, held as a Special Ceremony, was presided over by honourable Chairman Sir - Dr. Manje Gowda, other Dignitaries & the School Principal - Mrs. Padmashree M. Parents of the Elected Members also graced the occasion. The ceremony was held with lots of enthusiasm and gusto as the entire student community was excited to be a part of this solemn occasion.
It was initiated with the Invocation Dances signifying the Peace and Light of God Almighty. Motivational songs were sung beautifully by our students and Music Teachers - Sujatha Raman and David Johnson that enriched the ceremony with wisdom and serenity. The whole school was made aware of the unique election process through the Election Report presented by Mrs. Sushma Rajguru, Chief Election Commissioner for the elections held in the school. The report gave a glimpse of the Preamble, Election Committee, Nomination criteria, Election Process, Counting of votes, Declaration of Results etc. All this familiarized the audience on how democracy works in our country and how we emphasize its importance in our school.
The newly elected student council members were conferred with badges, sashes and their respective flags by the Dignitaries. The Principal - Mrs. Padmashree M administered the oath to the student leaders. Students pledged to be true to their posts and duties assigned to them.
The Head Boy – Praneeth Kadagi and the Head Girl – Sudheeksha S expressed their thoughts on upholding their esteemed responsibilities through powerful speeches.
The office bearers were encouraged by the motivational speech of our respected Chairman Sir - Dr. Manje Gowda wherein he encouraged the Student Council Members to be exemplary to other students and serve them well.
Some of the parents of the elected students also came forward and appreciated the efforts of the School for providing such golden opportunities for the students to take part in activities like these. Parents also commended the excellent organizational structure of the entire Election Commission of the school and also appreciated the transparency and efficiency maintained during the Election Process.
The highlight of the programme was when the esteemed Dignitaries took up the Guard of Honour and the office bearers performed their victory march to pay their respect to the higher authority.
