International Yoga Day

True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived.” .

To celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that Yoga has brought to the world, “International Yoga Day”, was celebrated on 21st June’23. The enthusiastic stars of VSPS preparatory enjoyed Yoga Day Celebration with zeal. Teachers prepared posters to create awareness on Yoga!!

Various yoga postures, different asanas including pranayama and meditation were performed . Through this event students were enlightened on the benefits of yoga and the need to remain healthy and fit. The students also enjoyed doing aerobics .Teacher explained the kids that,

the art of practicing YOGA helps in controlling an individual’s mind,body and soul.

International Yoga Day and World Music Day was celebrated on 21st June, 2023 on the theme of “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” to create awareness on the benefits of Yoga. Our Physical Education teachers and music teacher took to the amazing world of music with a keyboard performance by Misha C R from Grade 9B. Students performed yogasanas such as Surya Namaskar, Padmasana, Ashtabujangasana, Shirsasana, Kumbasana, and was continued till Shavasana with guidance of the Physical Education Teachers. The students were also given a message by our Principal Mrs. Mamatha M J that the practice of yoga can improve heart health, reduce blood pressure, enhance flexibility, and increase muscular strength so that can improve respiratory function, reduce inflammation, and improve overall mental wellbeing.
