Importance of Reading

“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” – Garrison Keillor

Reading is the foundation of knowledge. Books provide a lot of information, ideas and experiences that go across cultures. Students who develop reading habits from an early age can help them thrive for a bright future. Additionally, students can expand their knowledge to enhance their cognitive abilities and unleash their creativity.

Reading helps to build a cognitive perspective and brain-stimulating activity to sharpen their mind.  Reading is important because it makes them more empathetic, knowledgeable and stimulates their imagination. Reading allows one to develop a better understanding of the subject and gain conceptual clarity.

Engaging with text helps students improve with their writing skills, creativity and sharp vocabulary that helps them to boost their confidence in both written and spoken forms.

In this digitally-driven world, students must know the importance of reading books and also inspire others to read effectively. Students should incorporate reading habits into their day-to-day schedule to ameliorate their learning skills, confidence, language, writing, vocabulary and imagination.

In conclusion, books offer an escape from reality, the opportunity to learn new things and the chance to improve your mental wellbeing.  Happy reading!
