Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between man and nature a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. This day is the longest day of the year also known as the summer solstice. They gave a brief history of the origin of yoga.
This year the Yoga Day celebrations were held at Vidya Soudha Public School on June 21. Yoga day started with the assembly. Principal Mrs Padmashree Ma’am spoke a few words about the importance of yoga and why it should be practiced. Students from classes 1st to 10th took part in the celebration with great enthusiasm.
A video was shown to students about the importance of yoga and why it is celebrated on this particular day. Then students were taken to the school ground and they recited few mantras and displayed few asanas
