The Primary Section at VSPS comprises of students from Grade 1 to Grade 5.
We recognize that children at this level have their own unique abilities, interests, aspirations and expectations.
The Primary group is in-turn divided into:
- LOWER PRIMARY GROUP – Grade 1 & 2
- HIGHER PRIMARY GROUP -Grade 3 to 5
Grade 1 to 5 are the foundation years of education, where various skills, preferences and abilities are developed. In the Primary Section there is a subtle mixture of the ICSE curriculum with ‘Active Learning’. Therefore, our curriculum in these classes is structured to encourage and motivate students to become self-confident, self-reliant and self-disciplined, and thus help them achieve full potential.
Aloha Abacus Programme is introduced in the Primary Section to combat the Math Phobia among students so as to create confident young mathematicians!
Special Club Activities in the Primary Section create a fertile environment for collaborative and power learning wherein students open their creative mind box and hone special skills that helps them to experience fun in a very unique manner.
CCA – Co-curricular activities are conducted on 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays as these Saturdays are called as NO-BOOK DAY.
Students develop learning skills like social, emotional, Physical, cognitive, Aesthetic, moral values, character building, personality development are enhanced by engaging the Primary students in various co-curricular activities like projects related to subjects, creative art competitions related to the festivals and daily Assembly activities.
CCA is merged with academics and various projects are given to students which include sticking of pictures in their scrap book and talking about them, pick & speak, picture talks, Role plays, quizzes, debates.
CCA also include physical activities like mass PT, Yoga and meditation, Karate, Dance and Music (KDM).
